Sacred Universe Wiki:Naming conventions

From Sacred Universe Wiki

Page titles

Use the full name, as it appears in the books.

Tabitha Glowdish, not Tab
Kantankerous Albertuous, not Tank
Remidigon Otsby, not Remi

Where a character has only one name, that is the title: Demise, Seely, Fawn.

Titles are sentence case. Only proper nouns are capitalised: Book of Fire, The Sacred City, Dragon Cleansing, but Currency of Eslura.

Do not put a description in the title unless you have to. Gewa, not "Gewa (tree)".

Redirects

Every nickname gets a redirect. This is not optional housekeeping. It is what lets Maggie write naturally and still have her links work.

Bea, Red, Lumi, Metal Mouse and Celine Tidal all resolve to the right article.

To make one, create the page and put only this on it:

#REDIRECT Tabitha Glowdish

When a name is ambiguous

Three different things are called the Heart of the Kella: a cavern, a necklace, and a short story. When that happens:

 • the plain title becomes a short page listing the options
 • each real article takes a clarifying suffix in brackets: The Heart of the Kella (short story)
 • every one of them carries About at the top, pointing at the others

Only disambiguate when there is a genuine clash. Most pages need no bracket.

In-world versus real-world

Articles about the books use the published title exactly, including its series prefix: Sacred: Eslura's Calling, Sacred 2: Flames of the Awakened. Shorter forms redirect to them.
