Sacred Universe Wiki:Canon and spoiler policy
What this wiki covers
Published work only:
- Sacred: Eslura's Calling: Book 1
- Sacred 2: Flames of the Awakened: Book 2
- A Sacred Tale Collection: the two short stories
If a fact does not appear in one of those, it does not belong in an article.
What this wiki does not cover
Anything from an unpublished manuscript, outline, or series bible.
This includes Book 3 in every form: open plot threads, where characters end up, what Obellius is planning, who survives. None of it goes on the wiki: not in an article, not behind a spoiler banner, not in the Project namespace, not on a talk page.
The reason is simple and worth stating plainly: this wiki is readable by anyone on the internet. Editing is restricted to logged-in accounts, but reading is not. There is no private corner of this site. A note written "just for us" is a note published to the world.
Working notes for unpublished books belong in the author's own files, not here.
Spoilers for published books
Covered in full. An encyclopaedia that will not tell you what happens is not much of an encyclopaedia.
Put {{Spoiler}} at the top of articles that turn on a late revelation, as a courtesy to a reader browsing casually. Then write the article completely.
Speculation
None. Not in articles, not in "it is implied that", not in Behind the scenes. If the books leave something open, the wiki says it is left open and stops there.
If you are not sure
Leave it out and ask. It is far easier to add a fact later than to un-publish one.
